Gods Were Philosophers: The Tragic Literalism of Faith
#gita#philosophy#religion#literalism#enlightenment#krishna#buddha#scripture#truth
THE HARD TRUTH
The Gita is not true—the one you know, the one anyone knows. It's false. Everything is false or somehow changed, manipulated over centuries.
And any person claiming to be "the Supreme"? They are not the Supreme. They are enlightened individuals who used that framing to relay their message—because humans are stupid and won't listen to equals.
THE TRAGIC IRONY
What a tragedy: people don't realize that all the ones they treat as gods are actually the greatest philosophers who ever lived.
That's the core problem. Instead of understanding the meaning, people get stuck on the words.
Literally: people are stupid.
It's as if every "god" they worship is telling them things—and they are doing the exact opposite of it.
THE PATTERN
Krishna says: Act without attachment to results.
People pray to Krishna for results.
Buddha says: Don't worship me, find your own path.
People build temples and worship Buddha.
Jesus says: Love your enemies.
People kill in Jesus's name.
The message is always: Think. Understand. Transcend.
The response is always: Worship. Obey. Literalize.
WHY THIS HAPPENS
The enlightened ones had no choice. To reach the masses, they had to speak in a language the masses would accept:
• Authority ("I am the Supreme")
• Story (epic narratives)
• Ritual (something to do)
• Fear/Reward (heaven/hell)
They knew direct philosophy wouldn't land. So they wrapped truth in mythology.
The wrapper was meant to be discarded.
Instead, people worship the wrapper.
THE UNCOMFORTABLE CONCLUSION
Every scripture is a translation of a translation of a memory of a teaching.
Every "divine figure" was a human who saw clearly—and used the god-mask because that's what the audience required.
The gods were philosophers.
The teachings were psychology.
The rituals were technology for attention.
And people turned it all into superstition.
The texts say: Wake up.
The followers say: Tell us what to believe so we can sleep.
